Private Landscapes, research carried out in the framework of my doctoral studies starting in 2014, in two cities, Iquique and Puerto Varas. The choice of working with both cities not only allows – in the artist’s work scheme – to continue working in a relational methodology where multiple links can be established between both places. But also, it creates a political axis, between opposite geographical location (north-south), its different climates (desert – rainy oceanic), its architecture that responds to other social and economic conditions, its main commercial activities and its historical antecedents highlight the relevant fact that both cities were colonized.
Starting from the private gardens, built by the inhabitants of both cities, the aim is to understand while reflecting on the social perception of the Chilean landscape.
